Executive summary

Polynt Group was established in 1955 with an industrial plant in Scanzorosciate (Bergamo), where the Group’s Headquarters are now located.
Polynt Group is one of the leading producers of specific polymer chemical intermediates, such as anhydrides (maleic, phthalic, and trimellitic) and their derivatives (e.g., plasticizers), dibasic acids (fumaric and malic), unsaturated polyester resins, compounds and composites and special esters. Such products belong to the broad category of chemical intermediates, i.e., these products are in the middle of the chain that begins with oil refining through production and up to sale and distribution on the market of finished goods. The products are utilized for the production of plastics, paints, inks and adhesives, electrical and electronic materials and components, paper and lubricants. The compounds are utilized in the transportation, construction and electrical industries. Further markets are food, feed and fragrances sectors.
Company's activity comprises research and development, production marketing and sales. Polynt develops technologies that are utilized internally for the production as well as licensed to third parties.
Polynt has a leading position in Europe with subsidiaries in Italy, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, China and Hong Kong.
In 2008 consolidated revenues were Euro 582 million.
During 2008 the private equity fund InvestIndustrial, through a voluntary Take Over Bid, took over the Company. Previously the Group was owned by the Swiss Lonza Group until 2006 when Polynt SpA was listed in the Milan Stock Exchange
At the end of August 2008 Polynt acquired 100% of the Chemial Group, leader in the field of specialty chemicals addressed to the food, feed and fragrances sectors
Starting from September 2008 the merger of Polynt SpA into Polimeri Speciali SpA was  effective. Polimeri Speciali changed its corporate name into Polynt SpA.
